AT COMPLETION OF CLEANING

Cleaning a 19th Century oil paining by a British artist.  The brightness of the colour is hidden by the aged varnish, smoke, dirt and coal oil damage.

During the process.

The picture is cleaned in 1 inch squares.

The transition of blues and whites of the clouds is really quite beautiful, and was hidden by the damage the residue on the painting.
